Dr Simon Somogyi is the new Associate Professor in Business in the Department of Business and Social Sciences.
Previously he was a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Agribusiness in the School of Agriculture and Food Sciences at the University of Queensland, Australia and a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Marketing in the School of Business & Law at the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. He completed his PhD at the University of Adelaide, in the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine.
He has taught courses in agricultural product marketing, supply chain/ value chain management and agri-food business strategy. His research is focussed on agricultural product marketing including value chain management involving consumer behaviour research and business to business marketing strategy particularly in the wine and horticulture industries in countries such as Singapore, China, The Philippines, and Australia (South Australia and Queensland).
Dr Somogyi is recently married and enjoys good food and wine and working out at the gym. Dr Somogyi and his wife, Justine, spend most of their free time chasing after their dog Anouk and taking her for walks!
