Charlotte Butcher will compete in the halfpipe during the Canada Games. |
As Halifax throws open its doors to the rest of the country on Friday with the opening ceremonies of the Canada Games, ±«Óătv University is proud to be a Sapphire Sponsor.
The city will be welcoming approximately 3,000 competitors from across the country, and many ±«Óătv students, coaches, faculty and staff are involved as competitors and volunteers.
During the Games, there will be a new ±«Óătv ad campaign on billboards and bus shelters around the city, and at Ski Martock. Community design student, Charlotte Butcher, a member of Nova Scotia’s snowboarding team, is profiled on the ads that feature the message, “The Games brought you here. Let ±«Óătv bring you back.” The same message will be displayed on banners and computer screens at the Athletes Village Internet cafĂ©.
The ±«Óătv bus will be on the move during the games. The bus will transport teams and officials to-and-from Stanfield International Airport, transfer VIPS and media, and shuttle athletes to Ski Martock and other venues.
Just as ±«Óătv is proud to be a community partner, the university is equally proud of its student athletes and volunteers. Dal News will be running games-related stories featuring members of the Dal community, and ±«Óătv Magazine will feature a cover story about the ±«Óătv-Canada Games connections.
