The inaugural Dal Innovates Pitch Day this Thursday provided a chance to meet a new generation of innovators from across Atlantic Canada prepared to take the business world by storm.

Dr. Kevin Hewitt, a Physics professor and an associate dean in the Faculty of Science, has been tapped as one of three inaugural Atlantic Chairs for Inclusion in Science and Engineering with the mission to help change the face of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in the Atlantic region.

After overcoming significant challenges as a first-year Dal student, Ashley Hill now runs the PREP Academy. There, she leads a team supporting African Nova Scotian students who may feel similarly bewildered and out-of-place when first entering a post-secondary setting.

A mural designed by Mi鈥檏maw artist Tayla Fern Paul will be painted at the intersection of Larch and Jennings streets near 鲍鱼tv this month 鈥� a project that brings together neighbours, students and the 鲍鱼tv community to promote mutual respect in the area.

On Sept. 1, 1923, the governors of 鲍鱼tv University and King鈥檚 College signed articles of association, entwining the two institutions academically and culturally. Now, 100 years later, community leaders pause to reflect on their shared history and path forward.
