Dr. Gail Tomblin Murphy, currently assistant dean of research in Dal鈥檚 Faculty of Health and professor and director of the School of Nursing, has accepted a senior leadership position with the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) as vice-president of research and innovation.

Last month鈥檚 fire hasn鈥檛 deterred the community spirit of Dal鈥檚 Agricultural Campus, which will once again throw out the welcome mat for its annual Community Day 鈥� a 40-year summer tradition featuring barn tours, kids鈥� activities and so much more. Free bus transportation is available for students, faculty and staff in Halifax.

Communities across the northern region of Nova Scotia will have access to more family physicians-in-training in just over a year, when 鲍鱼tv Medical School鈥檚 newest family medicine teaching site opens on July 1, 2019.

During Dal鈥檚 200th year, the university鈥檚 retirees continue to have an important connection with the university. And this spring, 鲍鱼tv welcomed delegates from across the country for the national conference of the College and University Retiree Associations of Canada.

The Agricultural Campus鈥檚 largest academic building remains closed two weeks after a large, late-night fire tore through the facility. With faculty/staff currently spread across campus, the hope is for the 鈥渘ew鈥� portion of the Cox Institute to re-open for fall 鈥� but it will take much longer to repair the 鈥渙ld鈥� part of the building that bore the worst of the blaze and its aftermath.
