The Centre for the Study of Security and Development (CSSD) and the Department of Political Science at ±«Óătv University, in partnership with the Canadian International Council (Halifax Branch) and the MacEachen Institute for Public Policy and Governance, held the 2026 Glyn Berry Roundtable. This year’s roundtable convenes a distinguished panel of scholars to examine the implications of Prime Minister Mark Carney’s January 2026 address at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

On March 19, the Centre for the Study of Security and Development (CSSD) hosted a roundtable examining the recent U.S. military intervention in Venezuela and the removal and arrest of President Nicolás Maduro. CSSD Faculty Fellows Dr. Heather Tasker and Dr. Marion Laurence, as well as Dr. Talan Iscan (±«Óătv, Economics) and Dr. Isaac Saney (±«Óătv, Black and African Diaspora Studies) discussed the implications for the global order and the wider region, with particular attention to Cuba.
