Congratulations toĚýĚýon graduating from ±«Óătv's Civil and Resource Engineering program. We are thrilled to announce that he will be continuing at DalTRAC as a Postdoctoral Fellow!

His exemplary work has received recognition from Kim Brooks, President and Vice-Chancellor of ±«Óătv. His thesis, Modeling Work-Arrangement, ICT, Activity-Travel and Residential Location: Development of an Integrated Microsimulation Framework, is available for access through DalSpace.

Congratulations to our graduate students Niaz Mahmud and VajeeranĚýArunakrinathan, who were awarded the CTRF Transport Canada Scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic year! (Ottawa, Ont.)

Throughout the years, DalTRAC's Pricipal Investigator Dr. Ahsan Habib has done interviews discussing different transport related topics. The DalTRAC lab has also been highlighted in the media for the work of its members.

CART Codes: HACK HOW WE MOVE | 24-Hour Student Hackathon

In the face of climate change, globalization, and inequity, transportation network and the communities they serve are becoming increasing vulnerable. Data collection and analysis are more important now than ever to establish benchmarks, quantify progress, and enact change. The complexity of these problems demands collective action to implement informed and proactive decisions and policies. Post-secondary students and recent graduates in computer science, engineering, and planning disciplines were invited to participate in the inaugural hackathon: CART Codes 2024. . (Halifax, N.S.)

Inaugural Research Showcase of the Climate Action Research for Transportation Network

The effects of climate change are having increasingly severe consequences across the country. Recent extreme weather events, including wildfires, flooding, and record breaking snowfalls are stark examples of the growing severity of the climate crises. As of 2022, the transportation sector accounts for 24% of Canada's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Urgent actions needs to be taken to reach the federal governments goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2025. To accomplish this goal, an all hands-on deck approach is needed. With this in mind, the CART Network was established.  (Halifax, N.S.)
